Meet Tara Trask
Tara Trask assumed the role of host of The Last Mile Radio in March of 2025. Launched in early 2023, the Last Mile Radio amplifies voices shaping the U.S. justice system and shares impactful stories ranging from well-known celebrities to the most marginalized among us. Addressing the broad themes of stigmatization, reformation, redemption, and human rights, The Last Mile Radio seeks to address a wide range of issues and topics impacting people inside and outside the walls of America’s prison system.
Aside from her work with The Last Mile, Tara is the President of Trask Consulting, a boutique litigation strategy, jury research, and trial consulting firm. She is a nationally recognized author and lecturer on juror psychology and other trial science topics. She was a Trial Consultant Advisor to the Civil Jury Project at NYU Law School from 2015-2021 and is a former President of the American Society of Trial Consultants. Tara sits on the board of Represent US, a pro-democracy non-profit, and has been a longtime advocate for democratic causes.
The Organization Behind The Show
Turn 2 U Inc. dba The Last Mile (TLM) is an Oakland, CA based 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for professional and professional growth for Justice-impacted individuals through education and technology training. Through prison education, transitional support and workforce reentry, TLM is disrupting the system of mass incarceration across the United States. In-classroom curricula and course material prepare students for meaningful employment in modern job roles including web development, software engineering and audio and video production. Students cultivate personal and professional development in alignment with the technical education and with the support of TLM reentry staff, volunteers, and a community founded on shared lived experience.
