David Monroe and Curtis Carroll, aka “Wall Street”
TLM graduate and returned citizen David Monroe, by most odds, should have spent most of his life in prison. A rough childhood led to joining a gang, which eventually led to murder at age 15. But a prison sentence broke the cycle of destruction and David is now out of prison and working in Silicon Valley. His story will bring you to tears.
Inmate Curtis Carroll is well-known inside San Quentin as “Wall Street”. In prison since the age of 17 for murder and robbery, he’s determined to return to society and a job in finance, under the personal tutelage of Chris and Beverly. His reflections on life 20 years ago versus today are very deep for someone who couldn’t even read when he entered prison.
